Holiday Greetings-December 2008

As 2008 comes to an end and we embark on this holiday season, it is my heartfelt wish for all of you to be surrounded by the ones you love, to enjoy good health, to know God’s blessings and be mindful of why we celebrate. In reflection, I have so much to be grateful for: a greater faith, a loving family, wonderful friends, tremendous prosperity in my professional endeavors, and all of you who support and inspire the music. May 2009 be a year that we find ways to give, love, share, help and grow more as individuals, families, communities and as a nation.

With a grateful heart I pray that you and your family have a Happy Holiday and a very prosperous New Year!

Peace and Blessings,

KT

Summer 2008

I’m extremely excited to announce that my new recording will be officially released on
August 13, 2008 on the K-Tone Enterprise Label. Titled “A Grateful Heart, Kevin Toney Solo”, it is my first solo piano recording and features ten new original compositions. Check out song samples for all songs on the music page of this website. Special edition autographed CD’s are available for purchase at the website only. The new CD is also available for purchase at Amazon.com, CD Baby.com and Itunes.

The Kevin Toney Collection Volume 1 is now available for purchase at Amazon.com. It is also now available directly on my website. It is a collection of 24 of my original recorded songs in fake book format for all instruments.

I’m truly honored about my upcoming concert performance at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado on August 26, 2008. It is part of the Jazz and Blues Festival taking place at Downtown Denver’s Historic Five Points. For further information: http://www.denverjazzfestival2008.com/artists.shtml

As part of our Toney Family Foundation, I performed on June 16, 2008 with the Inglewood High School Jazz band. The event was held at the newly opened “Crozier Performing Arts Center” and was part of a fundraiser for the new building. This building will not only be a huge benefit to Crozier Junior High School but to the city of Inglewood, California community itself. It was a great opportunity to give and share with young, eager and talented students. The wonderful and hardest working music instructor in public schools, Conrad Hutchinson, directed the band. Our foundation donated ninety CD’s of A Grateful Heart to this event.

The month of June had me in the studio recording with father and son producing team Yochanan and Jerry Marcellino. The project was for top Israel performer Rita Klienstien. Tracks featured Freddie Fox on guitar, Andre Manga on bass, Sandra Simmons and Dominique Toney (my daughter) doing background vocals.

I want to give the following birthday shout outs to my brothers Solomon Toney (May 16), Derrick Toney (August 7), sisters Wynnie K (July 10), Hefen (June 25) and daughter Dominique (June 25). Thank you all for your continued support and may God continue to bless all of you and your families.

Peace, blessings and love,

KT

Winter 2008

I’m delighted to share with you that the Kings Of The Evening score is finished! I’ve spent the last eight months working on this full feature project and am pleased with the results. The film made its screen debut on February 17, 2008 at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles California. Both the film and score received great accolades and praise from the capacity filled audience. Lynn Whitfield, Glynn Turman, Tyson Beckford, Reginald T. Dorsey and Linara Washington star in this period piece set in the Depression Era. Look for this film in wide release later this year along with a soundtrack CD release.

My new recording titled “A Grateful Heart” is also complete. It is a collection of eleven new original compositions plus one previously recorded song that I perform solo. This body of work is a departure from all my previous recordings in content, scope and depth. It represents a new spiritual growth and walk with the Lord. April 23, 2008 is our scheduled release date (to also coincide with my birthday!). This project will be the first release from my new label, K-Tone Enterprises. More info to follow soon!

On March 7 & 8, I will be a feature performer and clinician at Columbia College in Sonora, California. The two-day event called the Columbia College Vocal Jazz Festival will have high school music students from central California participating in performance clinics by day and evening jazz concerts. I have been involved with this event since 1999 through my association with my dear friend Carl Anderson and continue to enjoy visiting this scenic historic area. Check my tour events schedule for more details.

My wife Phyllis and I are happy to announce that Living Hope Church in Granada Hills, California is our most recent recipient of a digital piano gift from the Toney Family Foundation. They have an outstanding worship and music ministry and will be making a joyful noise with this instrument in their new facility in the very near future. We want to thank everyone for the their candidate submissions, recommendations and referrals and look forward to the next opportunity to give of our many blessings.

In conclusion, I want to wish a very happy birthday to my son Jason!! May God continue to guide all of our steps and actions.

Peace and Blessings,

KT
