Happy Birthday to my sister, Wynnie (July 10), and brother, Derrick (August 7). Both live in Detroit and I wish them both special and very loving birthdays!

On June 11th, I had a wonderful time performing at the Gordon Center in Owings Mill, MD. My band members, all world–class musicians — Darrell Diaz (keys), Craig T. Cooper (guitars), Andre Manga (bass) and Trevor Lawrence Jr. (drums) — were in top form. Also performing was my dear friend guitarist Doc Powell, who gave an outstanding performance with his group. Doc can be heard on 110 Degrees And Rising on the song “Touched By You”.

You can hear several songs from 110 Degrees And Rising on radio station KJLH in Los Angeles, CA. Air Personality Kevin Nash plays “Quiet Conversation”, “110 Degrees And Rising” and “Prayer” on his Message segment aired between 1:00 PM and 1:30PM Monday through Friday.

Upcoming August shows include the Magic Of Motown on August 19 (at the Hillcrest Country Club in Century City, CA) and a concert at the Paseo Club in Valencia, CA on August 26. The Magic of Motown Show has truly become a family affair with my lovely wife, Phyllis, on board as costumer and daughter, Dominique, working as assistant to the show’s director, Jeffrey Polk. It was almost 10 years ago when Phyllis and I last worked together on the theatrical production of “Wild Women Blues”. It is a blessing to have family able to work harmoniously together!

The Motown show has also been a great opportunity to work with Berry Gordy. He is a great motivator and a man who shows much humility. The event is a tribute to Barry and the music of Motown and I’m the show’s music arranger and music director. The show will feature an eight-member cast and a ten-person orchestra. The show will have a one-hour running time and will include 11 medleys including sixty of Motown’s greatest and most memorable songs. Unfortunately, this show is private and will not be open to the public.

The show on August 26, however, is accessible to everyone! I will be performing with my band. Check here for details. I look forward to seeing you all at this outdoor event!
